The visit to the Filipec Cellar in Samobor (9 km) - the local people are proud of the original Samobor products: Samobor Bermet and Samobor Mustard. For generations, the Filipec family has cherished their tradition of preparing them. Bermet is a red aromatic wine made from selected grapes, wormwood and southern fruit. Samobor Mustard is characterized by a sweet and spicy taste and strong smell. These products are an unavoidable part of Samobor gastronomy. There is a possibility to arrange a tasting of these products in the Filipec Cellar, as well as their wines Sivi Pinot (Gray Pinot), Rose Tia and Cuvee Roko (Cabernet Sauvignon, Black Pinot, Frankovka and Zweigelt).
Nature Park Žumberak – Samobor Highlands - the mountain area of Žumberak and Samobor Highlands is one of the least inhabited areas in Croatia. The nature park is a hiking paradise and a popular excursion spot. There are 200 km of marked hiking trails and several mountain huts with an authentic gastronomic offer.
Some of the marked trails:
A) The Prince's Path includes two archaeological sites located in the Archaeological Park, one from the ancient Iron Age in Budinjak and the other from the Roman period in Bratelj.
B) Educational trail "Okićnica", 2.5 km long, through ten instructive stories tells the story of the Old Town of Okić and its historical importance for this region.
C) The hiking trail to Japetić (879m) - the highest peak of the Samobor Highlands.
Paragliding - there are two registered flying terrains in the area. Starting point 1 is just below Mountain Lodge „Žitnica“ on the Japetić. The start is spacious and long, so it is suitable for beginners. Starting point 2 is on the top of Plešivica.
The mine "Sveta Barbara" (Saint Barbara) is located in the village of Rude, 5 km southwest of Samobor and 15 km from Ethno House Pod Okićem. In the mine, visitors can visit centuries-old 350 m trenches. Nearby there is a 1.5 km long mining and botanical educational trail.
Grgosova Cave (14 km), the most beautiful cave in northwestern Croatia, is located in the village of Otruševec. It was declared a protected geomorphological monument of nature. The visits are possible on request. Next to the cave is the family-run tavern Grgos Cave offering traditional Croatian specialities.
