Sport fishing in the Kupa River is abundant with specimens like chub, pike, carp, catfish, nase, cactus roach and common barbel. It is one of the favourite destinations for fishermen. Daily fishing permits can be purchased at all local catering establishments and gas stations.
The Old Town Ozalj (16 km) is the symbol of the small town of Ozalj and the heart of its historical development. Strategically located on a cliff above the Kupa River in Central Croatia, it is first mentioned in 1244. In the Old Town, today is located the Museum of Local History, founded in 1971. It covers a history of 6,000 years. The open-air part of the museum called „Ethno Park“ (1 km from the town) displays indigenous life in the Ozalj area.
Ozalj Vivodina Wine Road (20 km), 30 km long, passes on the southern slopes of the Žumberak Highlands along the Kupa Valley. We will be glad to arrange visits to the wine cellars where you can taste and enjoy excellent locally sourced wines: top-quality white wines of Graševina, Sauvignon, Rhine Riesling, Chardonnay and Yellow Muškata, and red wines Black Pinot, Frankovka, Zweigelt and Portugieser.
Trip to Aquatika (21 km) - freswater aquarium in Karlovac, a city in Central Croatia famous for its four rivers: Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica and Dobra. Aquatika encourages the preservation of freshwater biodiversity. The visitors can witness the richness of life in rivers and lakes, with more than 100 freshwater fish species, of which 40 are endemic. A unique touristic experience based on environmental resources.
Trip to Plitvice Lakes Nationa Park (100 km) - a misty natural wonderland. Plitvice is one of the oldest national parks in Southeast Europe and the largest in Croatia. The national park was founded in 1949 and in 1979 it was listed on the UNESCO list of world natural heritage sites because of its exquisite series of 16 emerald green and opal blue travertine lakes, more than 90 waterfalls, and numerous caves. It is one of the most beautiful natural sights in Europe.
