Check-in into your accommodation: after 2:00 PM. Our first hike leads us to the Mostnica River Gorge inside the National Park Triglav. The Mostnica River is an Alpine stream with gorges, waterfalls and rapids. Especially interesting is a hollow rock which got the name "Little Elephant" since it emerged when the water broke through a rock. After a short break, we are hiking back for a Slovenian dinner at a local restaurant and later to your accommodation where you stay during this tour. Approximately 4 hours of hiking. Accommodation: chalet or B&B accommodation, Bohinj. Meals: afternoon snack, dinner.
After breakfast, we will start our hiking tour to the Rudnica Hill (946 m/3.100 ft) on the eastern shore of Lake Bohinj. The entire route is technically easy. Once you reach the rounded summit of Rudnica you will enjoy sweeping views of Upper Bohinj Valley and its glacial lake below. On the summit you will find a metal box containing a summit log where you can add your name, as well as a stamp for your own private travel journal. Our next destination is an eco dairy farm. You will learn about eco-sustainable cheese production and dairy farming in Bohinj Valley. We will taste their dairy products such as curd cheese, herbal spreads made from cottage cheese, and the Mohant cheese. This very piquant cheese is a speciality of Bohinj. After tasting Slovenian best cheeses, we are leaving you free to spend the afternoon and the evening relaxing, sightseeing or again outdoors. Accommodation: chalet or B&B accommodation. Hiking: 3-4 hours. Difficulty: easy. Meals: breakfast, cheese and local products tasting. Dinner on your own.
Today, after breakfast, we continue our hiking tour over Bohinj meadows, toward Vogar Alpine Meadow (1.100m / 3.600 ft), today’s final destination. Vogar is a handsome stretched out alpine meadow with numerous shepherd's cottages – nowadays authentic cottages for rent. Here we will taste a traditional shepherd's lunch and once again be rewarded with stunning views. Descent from Vogar into the valley, return back to your accommodation, free evening. Accommodation: chalet or B&B accommodation. Hiking: 3-4 hours. Difficulty: easy, well-marked paths. Meals: breakfast, traditional lunch. Dinner on your own.

Lake Bohinj in the middle of the Triglav National Park, only 26 km southwest from famous Lake Bled. It is the best kept secret of Europe and certainly "must see" in Slovenia. The largest natural lake in Slovenia (4.2 km long and 1 km at its maximum width), best known for its motive of a stone bridge and the Church of St. John the Baptist. The circular walk around Lake Bohinj is also recommended. An ideal summer holiday destination with many outdoors activities: swimming in the crystal-clear water, cycling, walking, kayaking, hiking and horse riding.
Mostnica Gorge and Devil's Bridge - Mostnica River is an Alpine stream with gorges, waterfalls and rapids, which flows from the Voje valley to Stara Fužina village. Especially interesting is a hollow rock which got the name "Little Elephant", since it emerged when the water broke through a rock. The Devil's Bridge is a demanding construction work over the steep Mostnica gorge. It was built in the 18th century for the transportation of iron ore and charcoal from the surrounding hills. The bridge got its name from a folk legend about which you can hear from our guide.
Cheese tasting on a family-run eco farm. The Bohinj Valley is famous for a long and rich history in the dairy industry stretching back to the 13th century. The Bohinj cheeses being some of the best in the country, especially the delicious fresh cottage cheese ‘skuta’ as well as the local speciality ‘Mohant’. This very piquant cheese is traditionally made in remote places far from the main roads or milk collecting locations. It is protected in European Union under the mark of Protected Geographical Indication.
