Three words describe this Inland Croatia 8-day (or 5-day) multi-activity adventure: GREEN, ACTIVE, AUTHENTIC.
When you arrive in Zagreb, we’ll pick you up from the airport or train station and drive you to your accommodation in Korana Village, a small riverside village located on the Korana River, near the famous Plitvice Lakes. The peaceful ethnic village is an ideal base for our 8-day exploring tour through the surrounding area. After settling into your rooms, we will meet for dinner and a brief orientation, during which we will discuss the tour itinerary and get to know all the participants. Drive: 2 hours one way. Accommodation: private guesthouse. Meals: dinner.
After breakfast, we set out to explore Croatia’s most stunning national park — the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes. With its 16 emerald‑green travertine lakes, more than 90 cascading waterfalls, and numerous caves, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a true masterpiece of nature. In this extraordinary environment, we will have a lunch break. A panoramic boat and a tourist train will take us across the lake and back toward the park’s exit. Later in the afternoon, we return to Korana Village, where you can spend the rest of the day swimming in the clear river in front of your accommodation. Walking: 6-9 kilometres. Terrain: easy, well-marked paths. Accommodation: private guesthouse. Meals: breakfast and dinner (picnic lunch on your own). Drive: 5 minutes each way.
On our third day, we will explore the rolling countryside of the Plitvice area by bike. The trail will lead us through forests, over hills, and green fields to the Barac Caves, where we'll stop for a guided underground tour through Upper Barac’s caves with a length of 520 metres. After visiting the caves, we will make a break for a picnic lunch and enjoy the tranquil setting. In the afternoon, we will bike back to our accommodation in Korana Village. Cycling: 4 hours, easy/moderate. Terrain: rolling hills. Accommodation: private guesthouse. Meals: breakfast (picnic lunch and dinner on your own). Please note that the full cycling route may be challenging for young children, but our support van is always available to pick them up and return them to the village if they become tired.
Today awaits us a true adventure - kayaking in a 200-meter-deep canyon of the Zrmanja River, the hidden beauty in the hinterland of Dalmatia. This thrilling journey along crystal‑clear emerald waters — over rapids and waterfalls, past hidden pools and beneath towering cliffs — promises an experience you’ll never forget. No previous kayaking experience is needed if you can swim. We use open canoes or sit-on-top 2-person kayaks (with an optional child seat). Rafting boats are used during high water season (usually before May and after September), but the water level can vary in spring and autumn. After kayaking on the Zrmanja River, we will drive back to our accommodation in Korana Village. Drive: 2h each way. Kayaking: 4 hours, class II-III, easy/moderate. Accommodation: private guesthouse. Meals: breakfast (picnic lunch and dinner on your own).
For participants who chose a 5-day tour, this is the end of their holiday. After breakfast, you are welcome to schedule your homeward flight at any time. The rest of the group continues their adventure. The motto for the fifth tour day is "free and easy", offering the participants a choice between staying active or relaxing by or in the river in front of their accommodation. Some of the options include a self‑guided cycling tour in and around Plitvice Lakes National Park, scenic walks, excursions to nearby towns of interest, as well as beach trips and general sightseeing. Drive: max. 2 hours one way. Accommodation: private guesthouse. Meals: breakfast (lunch and dinner on your own).
Today, we will cross the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our rafting day trip on the most beautiful river will be a great experience. The Una River forms a natural border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is part of the Una National Park, located in north-western Bosnia, across from the NP Plitvice Lakes on the Croatian side. The Una is rich in water even in summer, so rafting is possible all year round. There are several sections to choose from, and our guides will select the one that is best adapted to the group's abilities and current water levels. After a well-deserved break, we return to Korana Village completely amazed by our rafting adventure on the Una River. Drive: 1 hour one way; Rafting: class I-IV, 2-3 hours, easy/moderate. Accommodation: private guesthouse. Meals: Breakfast (picnic lunch and dinner on your own).
Another river adventure – kayaking in the canyon of the Mrežnica River. We will start our tour through the Upper Mreznica Canyon from the place which is approximately. 45 minutes away from our accommodation. This part of the river is the most beautiful for kayaking tours. Our route leads us through a narrow, dramatic gorge, where we paddle beneath towering cliffs, weave through lush vegetation, and glide past cascading waterfalls on our way to the crystal‑clear freshwater spring. We continue our expedition to the second-highest waterfall on the Mreznica (8m), which is an ideal place for swimming and a lunch break. After a break, we continue to the endpoint of the kayaking trip. After all the activity, we will have some free time to visit Rastoke Village on the Slunjcica River. This picturesque 300-year-old watermill village (30 km from the UNESCO site Plitvice Lakes) has the nickname „Little Plitvice“. We return to the Korana village for dinner and our last overnight stay. Drive: 45 min each way. Kayaking: class II-III, easy/moderate, 2 - 3 hours; in case of high water levels, we use rafting boats instead of kayaks (2 hours of rafting). Accommodation: private guesthouse. Meals: breakfast and dinner (picnic lunch on your own).
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight home. Meals: breakfast. Van drive: 2 hours one way.
