HIKING | Full Day | 69€ | A one-day hiking trip to the most beautiful viewpoints of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mountain plateaus at almost 1.700 meters, primeval forest Perucica and the wonderful glacier Lake Trnovacko in Montenegro. Those are just some highlights of this fascinating hiking trip through Sutjeska National Park.
Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide, you can not only experience nature up close but also learn many interesting details about the places you pass.
If you intend to spend a day free from hustle and bustle and want to explore Bosnian wild nature in a less demanding way, we recommend starting with this one-day easy hike.
The meeting point for the day-trip to the Sutjeska National Park is behind a tram station, at Pigeon square (Bascarsija) at 8:00 AM. Behind the tram station, there is a small white fountain and next to it is a taxi stand, where our vehicle will wait for you.
After an exciting two-hour drive from Sarajevo, we enter the National Park Sutjeska and arrive at the 1.200 meters deep canyon of Sutjeska River. During this trip, we will go up towards Dragoš Saddle (Dragoš Sedlo), the viewpoint at 1.306m overlooking the main waterfall at the locality - the Skakavac waterfall deep in Perućica’s valley. We will walk around the thick primeval forest Perućica that hides some of endemic and rare species. From here we are hiking on to Prijevor - the mountain plateau at 1.668 meters above sea level, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the National Park Sutjeska. Great place to take a picture of the mountains Maglic, Zelengora and Volujak which will tower around us.
At the edge of the primeval forest Perućica, we descend towards the Glacier Lake Trnovacko in Montenegro, which is set at 1.500 meters surrounded by impressive mountain peaks of Maglić, Bioč, and Volujak. Trnovačko Lake is just over an hour and a half walk away from Prijevor plateau. Depending on the weather, there is a possibility of swimming (only for the very fit). A lake is an ideal place for having lunch, relax and enjoy the serenity of the Bosnian mountains.
After lunch we are going back to Sarajevo, enjoying the beautiful colors of the sunset above Zelengora and Maglic, Bosnia’s highest mountain peaks. Return to Sarajevo around 7:00 PM.
