Zagreb Classic 2024 begins on June 22 with the concert "Film Classics" in the arrangement of the Croatian Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra, directed by Valentin Egel (Germany), one of the most talented European conductors and the Chief conductor of the Rijeka Theater Symphony Orchestra.
Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy music from some of the greatest names in classical music, including pieces such as Johann Strauss Jr.'s "The Beautiful Danube," Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's excerpts from "The Magic Flute" and "The Marriage of Figaro," Ludwig van Beethoven's "2nd movement, Allegretto" from Symphony No. 7, and Richard Wagner's "The Ride of the Valkyries" from the musical drama "Die Walküre." These pieces have been featured in cult film classics such as "Death in Venice" (1971), "Apocalypse Now" (1979), "2001: A Space Odyssey," and "The King's Speech" (2010) ...
A beautiful ambience and atmosphere cause great interest among the audience. It is a great pleasure to enjoy top-class classical music concerts sitting on the lawn under the starry Zagreb sky. Zagreb Classic introduces us to summer in the most beautiful way possible, with top musical classics, ballet performances, film compositions, jazz and contemporary works. Among others, world-renowned pianist Hyung-ki Joo, Italian virtuoso Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, soprano Caterina Iora, as well as local stars of classical music will perform.
This 2024 edition brings a novelty - two days dedicated to the Vienna Music and Film Festival. Namely, visitors will enjoy video projections of the most famous operas and operettas, such as The Magic Flute, W.A. Mozart and the Bat, Johann Strauss Jr. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to attend open rehearsals, which will further complete the experience.
Open Air concerts of Zagreb Classic 2024 end on July 2 with a performance of world-renowned pianist Hyung-ki Joo and Polish conductor Jurek Dybał, performing some classical like Leonard Bernstein: West Side Story - symphonic dances and Maurice Ravel: Bolero.
Location: King Tomislav Square - one of the most beautiful green oases in the centre of Zagreb.

Zagreb Classic Open Air Festival is an unforgettable experience for all classical music lovers. Traditionally, it is open on the first day of summer, 21 June, which is also World Music Day. All concerts on King Tomislav Square are free. You can also bring your dogs!
