Zagreb Classic Open Air event celebrates classical music on the occasion of World Music Day (June 21st) and within the programme "Music and the City". A beautiful ambience and atmosphere cause great interest among the audience. It is a great pleasure to enjoy top-class classical music concerts sitting on the lawn in front of the Art Pavilion under the stars. Zagreb Classic introduces us to summer in the most beautiful way possible, with top musical classics, ballet performances, film compositions, jazz and contemporary works.

Location: King Tomislav Square - one of the most beautiful green oases in the centre of Zagreb. All concert programs begin at 9 pm, while the Vienna Music and Film Festival program starts at 8:30 pm. In addition to performers from Croatia, musicians from Italy, Lithuania and the USA will also perform.

Zagreb Classic 2025 starts on June 19th with a concert by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring a selection of famous classical music and folk traditions performed by singers and musicians from Italy. The program features renowned Italian arias by Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, and Leoncavallo, as well as popular songs from Italy, Mexico, and Eastern Europe.

This 2025 edition features three days dedicated to the Vienna Music and Film Festival. Visitors will enjoy video projections of the most famous operas and operettas, including "Carmen" and Disney's "Fantasia".

Additionally, the Zagreb Classic 2025 will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the "waltz king", Johann Strauss Jr. On June 27, in collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum, a film adaption of his operetta "Cervantes" will be screened, produced by Theater an der Wien.

In this 2025 edition of Zagreb Classic, we would especially like to highlight the premiere of the oratorio “Anno Domini 925 - King Tomislav” by Matej Meštrović, on the occasion of the 1,100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom. The performance will take place on July 2, featuring the orchestra and choir of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, alongside a choir from the USA conducted by American maestro Jonathan Griffith. A total of 233 musicians from both the USA and Croatia will participate, symbolically closing the festival with a celebration of national heritage and international musical collaboration.
