Cheese production in Bohinj is one of Slovenia’s oldest and most culturally significant Alpine dairy traditions. It is best known for Bohinj cheese Mohant and for summer pasture cheesemaking, where local producers continue to follow centuries-old methods. Today, this living tradition continues in the mountain pastures and local dairies, remaining an essential part of Bohinj’s cultural heritage and identity.
