The Zagreb Classic Open Air event celebrates classical music in honour of World Music Day (June 21st) as part of the "Music and the City" program. A beautiful ambience and atmosphere cause great interest among the audience. It is a great pleasure to enjoy top-class classical music concerts sitting on the lawn under the stars in front of the Art Pavilion at King Tomislav Square, one of the most beautiful green oases in the centre of Zagreb.
Zagreb Classic 2026 opens on June 19th with a collaboration between the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and one of the most interesting interpreters of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music – Iranian pianist Ramin Bahrami. Critics declared him “a wizard of sound, a poet of keys… an extraordinary artist who has the courage to face Bach in a truly personal way”.
In this 2026 edition of Zagreb Classic, we would especially like to highlight the concert 'Seducers and Lovers' led by the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra. An evening filled with passion, mysticism and the intoxicating power of sound: from the seductive masked intrigue of Johann Strauss Jr.’s operetta Die Fledermaus, through the flamboyant allure of Musetta in Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème and the dangerous moves of Don Giovanni in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera, to the fiery Carmen in Pablo de Sarasate’s virtuosic arrangement and the erotic ecstasy of Camille Saint-Saëns, a series of dazzling and seductive musical scenes unfolds.
The Zagreb Philharmonic closes its Zagreb Classic 2026 cycle with a surge of orchestral fire. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 erupts in sweeping emotion, carried by the fierce artistry of Polina Osetinskaya, a pianist whose touch uncovers hidden depths in even the most familiar pages.
The night then ignites with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, reborn in Ravel’s blazing orchestration and driven by maestro Nimrod David Pfeffer—an electrifying presence on the world’s great stages, hailed as a conductor who lives every note.
All concert programs begin at 9 pm.
Entrance to all concerts is free!
