River Adventure on the Croatian-Bosnian Border

Una River forms a natural border between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. It is part of the Una National Park in north-western Bosnia, opposite the Plitvice Lakes National Park on the Croatian side.

The Una River is affectionately known as the 'Bosnian Beauty' and is often celebrated as Bosnia’s most beautiful river.

A rafting day trip on Bosnia’s most beautiful river is truly unforgettable. The Una’s emerald-green waters, cascading waterfalls, and the lush forests that surround it create breathtaking scenery at every turn.

The Una River is rich in water even in summer, so white water rafting is possible all year round.

There are two routes to choose from. Choose one that best suits your specific requirements:

RAFTING ROUTES:

1. Strbacki Buk - Lohovo, this upper part of the Una River is the  most attractive and thrilling 15 km-long route, passing entirely through the Una National Park. The first part of the route is relatively challenging, at IV-V difficulty, and the second part is easy, at II-III difficulty. Duration: in case of higher water level, approx. 3 hours (with a break). Total duration of the rafting trip: 4 - 5 hours. This challenging route is not available for children under 16 years.

PRICE: 56 € per person


2. Kostela - Grmuša, the lower part of the Una River is a 12 km-long route with a difficulty level II and III, and many small travertine cascades, rapids and waterfalls, providing exciting challenges and unforgettable moments. This route is perfect for first-time rafters as well as those seeking a more leisurely and relaxed river experience. Duration: 4 hours in total; 2,5 hours rafting (with a beak and depending on the water level). Suitable for families and beginners. 

PRICE: 45 € per person


The prices include VAT, equipment, skipper, basic accident insurance, transportation to the rafting start and return from the finish line.

If the group has less than a minimum of 4 people, and the client wants to do the trip anyway, the trip price increases by a percentage depending on the final number of participants.

LICENSED RAFTING GUIDES are rafting skippers and kayak guides with years of experience who have an excellent knowledge of techniques and tactics for riding wild waters, especially on the Una River. With them, you will experience the beauty of the Una River and its canyon in an attractive and unusual way. Whether you're a complete beginner or have prior experience, they are fully prepared to guide you with expertise and confidence.

EQUIPMENT: helmet, life jacket, paddle, one waterproof container per boat for personal items, plus long neoprene suit & rain jacket in case of cold weather.

What to bring: Wet shirt, rash guard, or a basic T-shirt (under the lifejacket) | Swimming suit | Water shoes, sandals or sport shoes that can get wet | Towel | Sun cream | Water | Optional snacks | Clothes to change after the trip | If you have sun glasses don’t forget to tie them.

The International Una Regatta takes place every year in July. It is an essential event for the Una National Park, which brings together lovers of water sports. Hundreds of kayaks and rafts follow a four-day course from Martin Brod via Bihać to Bosanska Krupa. The participants can follow the entire stage or just a certain route. An emerald green river, great company, and fantastic parties make the Una Regatta a great fun event.
