Green & Family-friendly 2-bedroom chalet for 4 persons just a few minutes walk from Lake Bohinj in Slovenia. The accommodation next to the Sava Bohinjka River is built and furnished in an alpine style, only 200 m away from Lake Bohinj. Impressive mountains, majestic peaks, the Bohinj Valley and Alpine meadows start right behind the property. This log house has two double bedrooms and a lot of space inside and outside. it is ideal for family get-togethers or a few blissful moments all to yourself.

The chalet is well-equipped and beautifully designed with a high-quality interior. Through the furnishing in a typical alpine style and a combination of different native wood types, the owner created an inviting and elegant ambience with a warm atmosphere. The well-maintained garden with a large BBQ seating area next to the river, which flows through the backyard, is everything you need for relaxing after hiking, biking or canoeing trips.

The location is optimal for families with kids. Close to Lake Bohinj but just far enough from the rest of the village, offering holidays in peace and privacy. There are plenty of day trips to explore green Slovenia and discover its hidden gems, from Lake Bohinj or the nearby Savica Waterfall to more ambitious day-long hikes, canoeing or biking trips.

Within easy walking distance from the Chalet Zlatorog is also a cable car to the Vogel mountain with breathtaking views from the top. The famous Bled Lake with its castle is about a 30-minute drive away.

1. Lake Bohinj (200 m) - a few minutes walk from the Chalet Zlatorog, in the middle of the Triglav National Park. Lake Bohinj is the largest natural lake in Slovenia, best known for its motive of the stone bridge and the church of St. John the Baptist. About a 20-minute bicycle ride, all along the lakeshore road brings you to the centre of Bohinj district at the east end of the lake. There, you can find the tourist information centre, canoe rentals, a natural climbing wall, an outdoor entertainment complex, the tourist boat for lake trips and the beautiful medieval church of St. John on the other side of the iconic stone bridge. We also recommend a circular walk around Lake Bohinj.

2. Mountain / Ski resort Vogel cable car (1 km) – Vogel is a 1.922 m high mountain in Slovenia, part of the southern Julian Alps and Triglav National Park. The cable car for the Vogel Ski Center is two minutes away by car or a 10-minute walk from the Chalet Zlatorog. It takes you to a height of 1.537 m. Vogel is one of the favourite ski resorts. From springtime until autumn, its green-covered landscape provides numerous opportunities for activities and experiences in the mountains: a new mountain bike trail 1.200 metres above Bohinj Lake with 1.400m in length and a 200m difference in altitude. The entire trail is suitable for both complete beginners and the most experienced riders. For those looking for an easier hiking option, there is the round-trip hiking trail with a length of 1.4 kilometres.

3. Savica Waterfall (3 km) - Slap Savica, the beautiful and famous Slovenian waterfall is a short distance away from Chalet Zlatorog. It runs over 38 m long level and falls almost 51 m deep. The total difference in height is 78 m. The footpath to Savica begins just a short distance further on, after the crystal-clear waters of the Sava Bohinjka river, which flows just behind the Chalet Zlatorog. Just follow the signs, and after about 40 minutes, you will come to the hut under the Savica Waterfall. You can arrive by car and park at the hut Koča pri Savici.

4. Aquapark Bohinj (11 km) is the centre of well-being. With a total capacity of 380 m2  water area, it offers fun and relaxation for all generations. Many animation programs are taking place in the swimming pool complex: attractive recreation swimming pool, children's swimming pool, whirlpools and toboggan slides, wild river, numerous massage nozzles, musical cave and a cave for lovers,  climbing walls, external terrace for sun tanning. Saunas are seperated into two theme areas. Wellness is designed as a street with little cottages where you can choose among different relaxation treatments and massages. The fitness centre, pizzeria and restaurant offer a view of Aquapark's swimming pools and surrounding mountains.
